Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

The primary function of this position is to provide support for all cost-related activities including cost analysis and accuracy, inventory analysis and reporting, and to apply financial discipline and parameters to manufacturing activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

1) Review job costs for accuracy and profitability

2)     Compare actual costs to estimates

3)     Identify opportunities to improve processes

4)     Monitor time standards and initiate process to improve process/make recommendations to product mix changes.

5)     Oversee/manage inventory value & accuracy

6)     Prepare & analyze standard costing reports

7)     Oversee annual physical inventory count

Education, Skills and Experience:

              Required:

  1. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required. 2+ years experience with specific Cost Accountant exposure in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

  1. Use of computer keyboard and mouse, and multi-line phone.

Work Environment:

  1. Primarily shared office environment.
  2. May be required to enter the machine shop environment at times throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.
  3. Possible skin and inhaled contact with various sealants, paints, adhesives, and other chemicals may occur.
  4. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required. 
  5. Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy.
