Job Summary:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for the planning, management, and control of production orders, on behalf of the Company. The Production Control Coordinator implements the activities and techniques required to achieve the scheduled or projected Customer delivery dates. The Production Coordinator maintains status on all production orders and provides that status to Customers (through the Contracts Administrator), Suppliers (through Purchasing); and AMT resources. The Production Coordinator is authorized to request the release of manufacturing orders/manufacturing order splits and to formally submit requisitions to Purchasing (through Inventory Control) for the procurement of outside vendor manufacturing and outside processing. All of the above are within approval guidelines established by the Production Control Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Practices and directs cost reduction/containment for the benefit of the Company.
- Performs Demand Management, including forecasting, ELC, Min/Max, etc.
- In partnership with Inventory Control, oversees and requests:
- Manufacturing Order (MO) creation, release and issue
- MO splits
- Purchase order creation
- MRP exception reports, including analysis and actions
- Compiles miscellaneous reports as directed by Management.
- Followas all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
- Coordinates manufacturing priorities with Master Scheduler, Production Manager, and Assembly Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Attributes:
- Proven ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with others in an environment of fast-paced periods of intense deadlines and fluctuating workload.
- Exhibits and demands high ethical standards in relations with personnel, suppliers and customers.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
Required:
- Three to five years experience in Production Control/Materials/Inventory Management in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strive to achieve 100% on-time delivery to customer purchase orders.
- Collaborates and cooperates with other Departments within the Company to meet customer specifications and timelines.
- Completion of Basics of Supply Chain Management (APICS within 1st year of hire.
- High school diploma.
Preferred:
- APICS CPIM certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Operations Management.
- Syteline, Excel familiarity.
Physical Demands:
Use of computer keyboard, mouse and multiline phone throughout the work day.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office environment.
- The Inventory Control Manager is required to enter the warehouse and/or machine shop environment at times throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.
- Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
- Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy.
