Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector inspects machined components, sheet metal components, raw material and outside processing for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. These duties and responsibilities are performed under supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications and technical requirements.
- Accurately compares product to engineering drawings/specifications, purchase order, and manufacturing orders using common manual inspection equipment, (e.g., surface plates, micrometers, height gages, calipers, protractors, radius gages, profilometers, bore gages, PCMs, dial indicators, etc.) in order to accept or reject product.
- Documents product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing order, processes appropriate rejection documentation if necessary, and performs move function in MRP system.
- Reviews outside processing certifications of nondestructive testing, chemical processing, and finish, and verifies physical appearance of final product for conformance to engineering specifications.
- Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Passing score on AMT Basic Level Engineering Drawings Test.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Hands-on inspection experience in a regulated industry.
- Passing score on AMT Basic Level GD&T test.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Standing, walking and sitting throughout the work day.
- Use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Work Environment:
- The Quality Assurance Inspector 1 works in the machine shop environment throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.
- Possible skin and inhaled contact with various sealants, paints, adhesives, and other chemicals may occur, as well as possible skin and inhaled contact with chemicals used to run CNC machines or clean manufactured parts, including solvents and MEK.
- Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
- Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy.
