Job Summary:

The OP/OV Shipping Clerk prepares all parts for outside processing, to include quantity verification, stage, wrap, crate for protection and load all production parts leaving the facility. Assist all incoming truck drivers to insure parts are loaded properly, with the correct job being loaded. These duties are managed and performed as directed by the specific requirements of the customer, within approval guidelines and procedures established by the Materials Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:     

  • Load and unloads various types of trucks.
  • Verify and count, QA OP bought off.
  • Routes paperwork to Purchasing for scheduling of Outside Processing (OP).
  • Tags and packages parts for Outside Processing.
  • Operates a forklift.
  • Uses hand and power tools.
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  2. Ability to adhere to a flexible and demanding schedule that may result in short days, short-notice unscheduled overtime, or additional weekend shifts.

Education, Skills and Experience:

              Required:

  1. Experience in the use of hand and power tools such as hammer, drills, nails, staple guns, etc.
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

  1. Standing and walking throughout the workday. 
  2. Lifting up to 60 pounds. 
  3. Ability to operate a forklift. 

Work Environment:

  1. The OP/OV Shipping Clerk is required to enter the warehouse and/or machine shop environment at times throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.
  2. Possible skin and inhaled contact with various sealants, paints, adhesives, and other chemicals may occur.
  3. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required. 
  4. Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy.
